Test of the current 6.1 demo version

Installs fine, starts, but does not run.

Requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable installed into same bottle.

Also requires .NET installation - I suspect .NET 3.0 or higher is required
(installing .NET 2.0 did not provide all the manifests the program requires)

Cheers!

Hate to sound dumb, but are you able to provide step-by-step instructions for installing the necessary components to run this program? I desperately need to be able to use some sort of qualitative data analysis software on my mac, and Atlas is the cheapest, but it quickly becomes more expensive if I have to purchase Parallels or some such thing...
I'm a non-techie, so any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks!

Hi,

As I said, it installs but does not run -- that said,
going by the date of my posting, that was probably tested
relative to CXO-8.x -- I'll retest it with CXO-9.0 soon as
I get a moment and let you know if anything has changed...

It's probably not worthwhile explaining a procedure to you
that doesn't result in a working installation 😉

Cheers!

Update: just checked with CXG-9.0 -- it actually gets a bit
further along in the crossover version, however it still does
not run. Checking through my traces here, it's actually only
requiring .NET 2.0....but...it looks like it's failing in and
or around .NET things, so perhaps this is yet another title
that needs .NET 2.0 service pack support (which currently are
unsupported in crossover/wine).

Rachael this might be a bit late but QDA Miner is a great piece of software that runs on a Mac with Crossfire. TAMS http://tamsys.sourceforge.net/
is a QA software specifically for Mac. The Coding Analysis Toolkit is another http://cat.ucsur.pitt.edu/ and it has the advantage of being both open source and free.
