Invalid format version.txt

Hey guys,
I managed to install Anno 2070 using Crossover just fine, however once I open it up, the Auto Updater more or less stalls/freezes, giving me the Message "Invalid format version.txt" Does anybody know a fix for this? Have tried a number of things however without success.
