How to make Android Studio to work?

I saw a screenshot of Android Studio running on an Android tablet using Crossover... so I know it works.

I tried to install it on my Chromebook but it is missing Java and some environment variables to work. How can I make it work?

If I can make it work, I will leave my Windows laptop for good!!!!

Thanks, any help is appreciated!!

I am trying to install Android Studio on a Pixelbook.

I successfully downloaded and installed Android Studio. When I run it, it gives me an error:

NO JVM installation found. Please install a 32-bit JDK.
If you already have a JDK installed, define a JAVA_HOME variable in
Computer > System Properties > System Settings > Environment Variables

Then I installed jre-7u80-windowsx64.exe
During the installation, an error window came up with a red x and a box but no text.
There was an OK button and I pushed it.

I ran Android Studio again but I got the same error window: No JVM installation found.

Please help.
