Anarchy Online working except mouse look/steer in Crossover 11

With CrossOver 11 (which incorporates the latest revision of Wine 1.4-rc??), Anarchy Online is once again mostly working once again. Even the in-game store works now.

The problem is that Anarchy Online switched to "Raw Input" for mouse movement somewhere around version 18.4 and Wine does not currently handle Raw Input (see http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25654 and http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20395). The game is mostly playable except you cannot use the mouse to look or steer. You can use the numberpad to do the same, but the sensitivity is a bit high on my machine.

When Wine finally gets a proper implementation of Raw Input, then Anarchy completely work. In Wine, if this patch is applied to the source, then Anarchy Online completely works, but this patch only really works for Anarchy Online and isn't a proper general solution. There is about a dozen games that suffer this problem per the winebugs report.

(Said by the staff)

"Proper implementation of RawInput will be pretty laborious, as it's mostly work that needs to take place within wineserver. However, the number of games that would be affected by this work means it certainly should be done, and sooner rather than later. This task has been assigned a "Critical" priority and moved to the "next" milestone in our system, which means that it will be tackled after Crossover 11 is out the door."

We have to wait but at the moment it seems the implementation is on the top of the to-do's list.

Wine 1.5.13 now includes Raw Input (Mouse and Keyboard) support. Not sure if it's possible to back-port this functionality into the stable 1.4 line.

That's correct. I tested this wine version when it was released and AO works as intended(graphics, mouse and movement).
So we could see a working AO in one of the next crossover releases...
