Lost my notes. Kindle for PC now replacing *.mbp files with empty *.mbpV2 files

Following a recent update of KIndle for PC I've lost all my notes. It seems that Kindle for PC is now deleting the old mbp files with empty mbpV2 files, with the result that I have lost all my notes. I do have all my old mbp files in a backup. What on earth must I do to restore them to mbpV2 format. Simply copying their content into the new mbpV2 files doesn't work.

Is this behaviour perhaps something to do with my moviing my My Kindle Content folder into Microsoft's Windows 10 One Drive, which I share with other devices?

Help appreciated.

Hello William,

I don't know how to deal with these files. Maybe you'll have a better chance on the Amazon Kindle support page. Also, I don't understand well the Onedrive and Linux

Regards,
Carlos
