Amazon Kindle for PC Forum

I just tried to upgrade to cx 11 and I couldn't get any version of the Kindle reader to work with it. I tried 1.7.1 and 1.9.2.

The installer says:

When I start 1.9.2, nothing happens. Using cxstart doesn't print anything on the console, I just get a new prompt.

With 1.7.1, I can't open any books anymore.

On the same computer, 1.7.1 work perfectly with cxgames 10.

Use the crosstie "Install Amazon Kindle for PC 1.x via CrossTie" button. In CrossOver 10 it will install kindle 1.7 and in CrossOver 11 it will install kindle 1.9 with the Visual C++ 2008 runtime.

Try it and tell me

And the result is the same as before: Kindle doesn't start.

Okey the log you wrote is normal. Are warnings on some profiles.

The installer using the crosstie should install Visual C++ Runtime 2008 check if it is installed in the bottle. Without it in CrossOver 11 Kindle won't run.

And only for test the version that crosstie installs is 1.9.1 that was the last version I tested. Maybe in 1.9.2 an incompatibility was introduced

..has nothing to do with crosstie profiles at all. It
signifies that the linux instance in question does not
have the pyxdg package installed...

..such has no bearing on Kindle4PC problem, but, perhaps
one should install this package anyhow...

Any improvements? better menu creation?

I have the Visual C++ Runtime 2008 installed plus the font pack. CrossOver 11 won't run 1.9.2 nor 1.7.1 anymore ☹️
