The current codebase will run as a client, most likely, but the SQL light (free to redistribute) database engine from Microsoft doesn't install or run under Crossover. It's not being a SQL CLIENT that's the issue - it's that the software comes packed with the SERVER. Amazing Charts requires this in order to work.
With the migration of medical coding from ICD-9 to ICD-10 we're going to be forced to upgrade to a newer version of Amazing Charts, so we're going to be looking at making this work again. One possibility will be to (uugh) actually install windows in a virtual machine on our linux server to be the Amazing Charts server, with clients running under a custom install of Crossover. We will keep the community posted.
