It doesnt work in my case.

Hi, tried to get the game running, without success. The game runs thru a program called ijji REACTOR. Something similiar to Steam. The funny thing is, in CrossOver I can start the Reactor without problems, even downloading, installing and updating the game thru the Reactor worked fine, but I couldn't start it (some error). In CrossOver Games (and this is what make me mad) I even cant run the Reactor. It opens something... but its just a small version of Ijji's Homepage, unforunately not the program itself.

Anyone with me getting this game to work? Best Mmofps ever :)

Hi,

This is just a guess, but perhaps installing IE6 or IE7 into
the same bottle may help? I'd give it a try....sort of sounds
consistent with the behavior you describe between CXO & CXG...

Cheers!

Hi Don,

thanks for the tip, but I already tried that. And to be honest, IE is actually the reason why Reactor doesnt work on CrossOver Games. So without IE -> descripted Problem. With IE (testet with 7 & 8, I can't install 6 cause I get an error during the installation) I instantly get an error when I start to open reactor, Not really readable letters just senseless signs arranged together, maybe korean? Cause the game comes from Korea. I really cant tell sry.

I dont understand why the exact same bottle works in CrossOver Normal, but doesnt work in CrossOver Games.

Any Ideas? Thanks.

Hi,

I got IE6 SP1 installed now. If I try to start Reactor... I just get a white window :) So no luck with IE 6, 7, 8. But again. In CrossOver Normal Reactor just works fine with IE7... I dont get it...

Hmm....well, there are intrinsic differences between CXO & CXG, and
CXO always tends to be better tuned towards apps (like IE)...this all
said, what versions of crossover are you referring to here?

Cheers!

CrossOver Games 8.1.3
CrossOver 9.0.1

Ahh..okay, that helps explain it. CrossOver 9.x.x is based on wine-1.1.34 -- around
wine-1.1.30 or so, I noted the inbuilt wine HTML engine (gecko) got a -lot- better
with handling fonts and IE stuffs (ieframe for example), and gecko itself could do
a lot more than it was previously capable of before....

Conversely, CrossOver Games 8.x.x is based on wine-1.1.25 or so, and as such doesn't
have those improvements made in wine-1.1.30 as part of that wine build, so both the
inbuilt HTML engine (gecko) and the handling of IE stuffs is nowhere near as good.

Fortunately speaking, the upcoming release of CrossOver Games 9.0 will be a wine build
based on wine-1.1.42 or so, and will include the improvements I mention with the inbuilt
HTML engine and have better supports for IE and it's related components. I speculate
that when CrossOver Games 9.0 is released, (and no, I don't know when that will be),
things should get a lot better here. As the upcoming CrossOver Games 9.0 release is
currently in beta testing phase, you shouldn't have long to wait.

Hope this helps...

Cheers!

Well, at least you give me a little light 😊
