I have the exact same problem. It installs perfectly but when I click on the shortcut Nothing happens. I don't see anything. No image or loading screen. My OS is Ubuntu Linux and I run .exe with WINE. SO I don't know if it has to do with my os or WINE or if its just not working....
According to ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1069960 A.V.A uses Hackshield which does not work under wine (see bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4666 ).

..ftr, it's not the first time I've seen an online game initially released
without any such anticheat systems, but they get added later on (when they
discover ppl have been cheating ;)
