Alien Versus Predator Classic 2000 did not display any issues when installed via the
Steam interface, however the game has some issues with mouse/joystick input. This
means for all movement in the actual gameplay, you will have to use keyboard control,
in combination with the mouse buttons (which work fine for weapons/attack purposes).
The installation procedure I used was this simple ;
- Purchase the game via Steam using my system's default web-browser (firefox 3.5.x)
- Install the Steam client via the cxinstallwizard builtin target (if not already installed)
- Start the Steam client, login and download/install the Alien Versus Predator Classic 2000 software
- Launch the game
Note: According to this title's release notes, it is supposed to be compliant with an Xbox
controller connected to the PC, however this was not being recognized by this title either
(I have such a controller connected to my linux system)
Gets a silver straight out of the box despite the input problems (it is the only problem)
and the game is still playable via keyboard using mouse for the fire button(s).
Update: mouse issue still remains in CXG-9.0
Cheers!
