I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 11.x after having updated installation recipes as recommended by the install wizard and picking the installer from those available in the wizard. I am running Kubuntu Trusty 14.04.5, LTS. As recommended in https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/forum/adobe-reader-xi?msg=151852. I manually added "MS C++ 2008 (9.0) redist" and "CX HTML Engine (ie8 mode)". I made sure that I had the libp11-kit-gnome-keyring:i386 and p11-kit-modules:i386 packages installed.
All the dependencies install. When I get to the Adobe installer itself and click "Next", the dialogue goes away but the progress bar in the Crossover wizard keeps cycling. It has been over 15 minutes since the log file was updated and 10 minutes since any file in the install directory changed, so I think it's stuck. Has anybody had this problem? How did you fix it?
By the way, my goal is to be able to natively sign documents in Acrobat Reader... so if you happen to know that even when successfully installed, Acrobat will not sign documents under Crossover, I will be grateful if you please tell me so I don't waste time on it? Thanks, I really appreciate it.
I'm doing this as due diligence for a bug I filed on the same problem as this person: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/forum/adobe-reader-xi?msg=187789 (why are all these threads locked with no answers?). I wanted to make sure that this has not already been addressed by an update.
Thanks
