I have gotten Acrobat Reader 6.0 to work. It takes a couple of extra steps to get it installed and running, but really not much. Here is what I did to get it working with Crossover Office 3.0:
1) Use the Crossover Setup utility to install a new unsupported app.
2) Pick the installer that you downloaded.
3) Make sure the the Windows version is set to "Windows ME"
4) It should install without any probems.
5) For some reason, this app will not work unless the windows version is set to "Windows XP" or "Windows 2000". This is strange since it wouldn't install with those versions set. I added this to the end of my "./cxoffice/dotfiles/config" file:
[AppDefaults\\AcroRd32.exe\\Version]
"Windows" = "winxp"
This causes Acrobat Reader 6.0 to work great except for one thing. The icons on the toolbar don't look nice. I think it might be a transparency thing.
Overall, I was impressed with how 6.0 worked. I have used it with big PDF files and all the features in Acrobat Reader that I normally use are fully functional. I would give Reader 6.0 a "Silver" rating only because I needed to edit the config file and the icons don't look normal. I'd give it a "Gold" rading if those two things were fixed.
