I have a friend who downloaded a "portable" pre release version of cs5. On Crossover it was as easy as installing Microsoft C++ redistributable (not sure which version) and then running Photoshop.exe
Results are the same as above, top menu doesn't render, because Adobe are doing something funny there. OpenGL seems to work fine.
I installed CS5 via this howto without a problem

I tried to merge it to cx but it kept crashing.
With the native wine it runs like a charm.

You have Ubuntu, I am still at it with my Mac, no light of day yet! :(
