Zooming in Photoshop CS2

Hi,

I've just recently switched over to Ubuntu 10.10 from Windows XP, and I'm currently using the trial version of Crossover (and planning on buying it if I can this sorted out) to run Photoshop CS2, which I need to use quite extensively. I have a Radeon HD 3450 graphics card and Compiz/Compiz Fusion.

Mostly everything is running fine, but I've noticed that whenever I zoom in or out, I get really bad screen tearing/broken up images before it redraws/refreshes properly, so the zoom isn't smooth at all. The redrawing on hide/show layer is also noticeably slow. Is there any way that I can get these things to work as well as they do in Windows? Would this be a problem with Crossover, or something else?

Hello,

Does it help if you disable compiz ?

To do so go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects tab and select "None".

You can re-eanble compiz the same way :)

No, disabling Compiz doesn't seem to have any effect on the problem.

I'm using Photoshop CS2 at my home(Ubuntu 10.10 64bit) & at office(Windows 7 64bit) & I have to tell this clearly, in Ubuntu Photoshop works much faster & great. When u re zooming, it's normal quality decrases. It happens all of the Photoshop versions. Look at ur picture at %100 zoom, %150, %200... Then u will see them clearly.

I don't understand why it has got Bronze medal. It should be Silver at least.
