Incomplete Installing + shield08 error

Hello. Air rivals installs almost the whole way but then stops for no reason, I skipped a step, and the start up screen and patch shows, but on trying to log in, it says Shield 08 error. I have Microsoft Direct X runtime - modern installed, and i'm on mac
