Installer doesn't work

I tried to install ACDSee. The installer starts, but doesn't finish. Alas.

This is my second intent. I launched the language-specific installer from the language specific folder on the distribution disk. Installation almost terminates, I obtain two new icons on my desktop (one for ACDSee, one for FotoCanvas Lite). The apps don't start, however.
No error messages are given.
