They have a trial version you could try it ;)
Tom
no it doesn't work, the retail version doesn't install it requires windows 2000 or xp to run
and won't run on 98 or crossover or cedega(even a emulation of xp's enviroment) also if you do manage to get it installed you have to worry about the licencing program that need to start up with it to run
in other words i've had no success but this is the only program holding me back from getting rid of xp for good
btw the first Anonymous message was from me
any way, yes i have tried povray (brilliant program) and i even used blender can't quite get my head around it. but none of them really compare to 3d studio max or even Maya both are very powerfull (especially with the many plug ins avaliable) and intuative programs and concidering many people have invested money into such programs changeing to free ware alternatives would be kinda pointless
copy files from xp and run them in linux
tried that ages ago
i got more errors with that than with trying to install
(it couldn't find half of the modules plus it needs the security stuff to also exist and be running at startup before it would even contemplate running)
well my favorite way is ~/wine -winver winxp /program_i_want_to_run
do that via the terminal
by defalt its set to win98
BTW windows 2000 mode may work better than windowsxp mode
-winver win2k
