I have an abandonware, probably 16-bit, that I would like to run in Crossover (14.1.6 on OS X 10.10.5). I managed to install the app into a fresh WinXP bottle (plus its database, which is done automatically), but I can't launch the app; it crashes with an unknown error. (Note: the cdr-volume must remain mounted in OS X Finder, otherwise the app won't launch anyway.)
As it seems, it's a Borland database, compiled before the year 2000. On a regular (non-Wine) Windows XP system (latest SP3) it runs fine. I don't know what the problem in Crossover is. Anyone who can come up with a solution? Some Wine tweaks maybe?
You can download the cdr image here – no serial number required, although copyright is surely still active on this software: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vxtk2nuhvjph4aj/PWRER2.cdr?dl=0
The original system requirements are Win95/98. Installing into a Win98 bottle produces the same problem.
