I’ve recently upgraded my system to macOS 15.0.1 (Sequoia) and started using Crossover 24.0.5. Since then, I’ve encountered consistent kernel panics with the following error:
panic(cpu 1 caller 0xfffffe0019064410): DCP PANIC - IOMFB int_handler_gated: failure: axi_rd_err [0x40300024]
This has been happening primarily with games like Dragon Quest XI S and Dragon Quest Monsters on Steam.

After some testing, I found that disabling D3DMetal and DXVK in Crossover settings prevents the kernel panics. However, the games run slower as a result. Additionally, I had to disable msynch to ensure stable performance without crashes.

While this solution helps prevent the kernel panic, it comes at the cost of reduced performance, but the games at least don’t crash anymore.

Everything worked perfectly on macOS 14 (Sonoma) with no crashes or performance issues.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with macOS 15.0.1 and Crossover? Any tips for improving performance without triggering kernel panics would be appreciated!

Seconded, on a new MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and Sequoia 15.1 Crossover is borderline unusable, it randomly causes Kernel panic reboots with some games consistently doing so (like Binding of Isaac Rebirth). I suspect a OS error rather than a problem on CodeWeavers end, yet this is deeply disappointing, I was hoping to just be able to play games on my device and these errors are stopping me from going ahead with my purchase of the software.
If anyone from the dev team is reading this, is this a known issue with Sequoia? Are people with the same chip as I have just able to play games? Parallels seems to just work.

Hey everyone, I just got my new M4 Pro Macbook Pro a few days ago and as others I am super disappointed with Crossover right now.
I got it for the main purpose of playing The Binding of Isaac Rebirth but as someone already said here in the thread it causes my Macbook to freeze and reboot. Can anyone confirm that they have the exact same problem? In this case we all either have hardware problems in our macbooks or it is clearly an incompability with Crossover and the M4 Chip or 15.1 Sequoia.
If it stays like this I will definitely not buy Crossover because for me it is unusable if I get some freezes and reboots on my Macbook.

A few months ago I had an M3 Macbook Air and it worked perfectly so now I really wonder what the problem is :/

PS it also doesn't matter which settings I use to start The Binding of Isaac because no matter what it will always freeze and make my Macbook restart. But if I play the Binding of Isaac with Parallels it works smoothly.

After trying a couple of GOG and Battle Net games, it almost seems as it's only Steam that causes the problem.
Sometimes (and very often) I get the system reboot mentioned in this thread while just attempting to install steam to a bottle.
Some quick repro steps:

• On an M4 Pro device running Sequoia 15.1, install a fresh copy of Crossover 24.0.5.
• Attempt to install steam
• If the computer hasn't yet crashed install The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth with the two expansions.
• Run the game
• Your device will crash with either a random kernel panic or a SOCD Report: AP watchdog expired error.
