As the title indicates, I'm having issues launching the game. I'm running an Apple M3 Max and the game installed perfectly. The bootup screen comes up with the game's splash art and loads until it fails to load the anti-cheat module. I'm running the latest version of CrossOver for Mac as well.
Was wondering if there are any updates to this issue as I've read it's affecting others.
Unfortunately Crossover/Wine can't support any anti-cheat software.
"Many multiplayer games use anti-cheat technology to attempt to detect changes in a game's code that could give players unfair advantages. These anti-cheat technologies work at a very low-level of the Windows operating system and are incompatible with CrossOver's translation layer, preventing the game from running."
"As a US-based company we follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) which prohibits any bypassing of technical protection measures, meaning that we cannot legally work around any type of copy protection or anti-cheat technology incorporated into a game. For these reasons we do not support or attempt to fix issues with anti-cheat technology. If a game's anti-cheat prevents use with CrossOver, the only way it can work is if the game developer makes changes on their end."
However when 23.5 was released Meredith Johnson wrote "Denuvo games are now playable, and this release also includes support for GStreamer for multimedia decoding. Note that Elden Ring and Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon default to launching with Easy Anti-Cheat disabled."
Any update on this?
A while back Crytek made it possible to run Hunt: Showdown on Linux with Proton, and I have been playing it with very little issues running Nobara Linux since August.
But since playing Hunt is the only thing I currently need my PC for I was looking into whether buying Crossover could allow me to transition to Mac full time, so has this been solved now?
