Well - the title says it all, but I'll expand.
I installed the trial crossover on 8.12.2024, and after looking in the forum comments - all were about Linux though - began with Wordperfect 11. Didn't make much progress, and removed it and tried WDP12, as a forum comment seemed to suggest that 12 was a better version to use.
I had a couple of crossover? issues - after install, the program icon was absent until I closed and restarted Crossover. But..
Wordpefect 12 ran, and most functionality seems to work.
Major problem though, on trying to save a document, the drop down portion for 'file type' on the save panel is blank, whether save as, or just save is called. Even keying a file type extension onto the file name thusly "HelloWorld.wpd". doesn't allow the doc to be saved.
I was able to alter settings, and various attributes, but without a save, it's not usable.
Good news though - I also fired up Quattro - the Corel spreadsheet, and found that the file save dialogue, which appears to be identical, displays the file type drop down, and having made a selection, appears to work as required.
How can developers not use the same components within a suite of functions - sheesh.
Does anyone have any ideas on a fix for this - within the next 14 days..
Thanks for listening.
