Linking Cross-Over Steam to Wine Games?

Ok, here is a unique question:

Is it possible to run STEAM in it's "Bottle" and link it to a game being run in traditional WINE?

I ask this because I have a small number of games that just refuse to run properly on Crossover as of this date (11 OCT 2011); but appear to run in WINE with no issues. I have STEAM installed in Crossover, and really really dont want to reinstall it using wine just to play 2-3 games. The games "Connect" to STEAM for initial startup but besides that don't need anything I believe in order to run. Is it possible to create symbolic links to the game files house in commonapps within the STEAM directory and link them to the game directories within a traditional WINE directory, and properly run STEAM in crossover but run the game within WINE?

I will attempt to experiment abit, but would love input from someone more knowledgable than me...

...a something I've never tried, nor likely to ; I have multiple Steam
installs (3 in cxg, one in wine-devel) - it's no big deal...

...I doubt it would work -- the crossover hoisted Steam would be running
on the cxwine engine ; games in the other wine installation will be using
-that- wine engine, and the 2 wine environments never meet (caveat desktop
& icons menus, homedir...), and because of that. I reckon the Steam DRM
will fail ..I think. I could be wrong, but I figure it won't work...

..and, like I say, nor would I bother - having a native wine installation
-and- crossover installed is too easy. For the sake of crossover, it would
be better if you reported which apps are running in current wine and do
not work in crossover, and then use wine pure for those apps until crossover
'catches up' ; but, if you don't report same, the cw devs will not know about
such, and the 'catch up' will be coincidental, not constructed of thought...

...personally, I think crossover should have a wine rev about 6 weeks ago =)

Cheers!
