Hello out there!
I have a small problem. I want to install my windows cutter software Artcut 2005 on my mac. The installation completes perfect but to valid the installation I have to insert the second installation cd when I start the programm the first time. It looks like as if there is some kind of anti piracy key on the second cd but it is not accepted. I guess normally under win xp the key from the second cd is added to the installation but how do I do it with crossover?
Please help!
Do you have images of the CDs or do you use the original ones? Normally there are no "keys" on CDs, because that would mean every CD had to be unique. There is sometimes a check wheter the CD is original or not. In your case i think the problem is that the Application reads from the wrong Cd-device.
I suspect the problem is that either the software uses a copy protection driver which doesn't work in CrossOver, or the software tries to use direct SCSI access on the drive, which macos doesn't allow for "security" reasons. I personally don't see any security concerns there because a cdrom drive is read only anyway, but in any case this is an intended restriction that won't be lifted anytime soon.
Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
