I tried loading in a game and an error message was displayed. It stated that the video card needed an updated driver. When I went to the ATI website it does not have my OS listed. How am I supposed to update a driver that the OS is not listed? Is this something I need to ask ATI? Any info is welcome. Thank you.
The game shouldn't be checking for specific drivers. It should be checking for capabilities supported by the driver and the video card.
The problem is that it's checking for the driver by version number or the like. Those are specific to Windows. Graphics drivers for other platforms (Mac or Linux) are never going to exactly match the drivers for Windows. There isn't even enough correspondence between the driver on one platform and another in order to make matching driver version numbers meaningful.
In general, one gets graphics drivers for Mac OS X from Apple via Software Update. For Linux, you use your package manager or the like to get it from your distro.
In any case, the game should only be warning about the driver. It shouldn't be stopping you from playing. You can probably just bypass the warning and proceed to run the game.
