Could use some help please as I cannot run Monkey Island 2 Special Edition

I am puzzled how this game has achieved a Gold ranking when so far I have had no luck at all getting this to work on my iMac via Steam. All it does is launch a window, flash white, then it crashes and closes the window.
Am I alone in this problem? or has anyone else encountered the same issue?

Here are my specs:
Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3.06Ghz
Memory: 4GB
Graphics Chipset Model: Nvidia GeForce 8800GS
VRAM: 512MB
OS: MacOS 10.6.4

Crossover Games V9.0.0

Have you tried Secret of Monkey Island: SE?
If so, are you having the same problem?
I had a similar problem with that game a year ago and had to get help in this very forum.
There are some threads that help for that game in its dedicated forum and some tips & tricks on its dedicated page.
What worked for me is what I posted in the second post of this thread.
I wouldn't be surprised if that also helped for LeChuck's Revenge: SE.

@Steve Lefebvre

Thanks for the links but still no luck I'm afraid; I have tried following all of the suggestions you listed but no matter what I try the game just crashes.

How about Ryan's suggestion (his 2nd post) in this thread in the game's dedicated forum?

Yup none of it seemed to work.
Thanks for trying but in the end I just booted up VirtualBox, installed an ancient copy of WindowsXP I had lying around and played from there.

Sorry it didn't work for you... it works perfectly for me.
Maybe you could try CrossOver Games 9.1.0 (or not since you got it working another way).
