Sons of the Forest Dedicated Server

I have an extra M1 Mac mini lying around which I use to host various things, and my friends and I recently started playing Sons of the Forest.

Has anyone tried running the dedicated server in Crossover? I've tried with the Sons of the Forest configuration but skipped the game install, but no luck.

Here is a snippet of the latest log. This trace is repeated. Unfortunately, the log history in the terminal window is not long, and the logs saved using crossover are different.

If anyone has any tips here I would appreciate it.

Also, the BetterTester applications are closed, so I couldn't submit this to the database. It would be easier if it was set up similar to the base game via steamcmd + the app id (2465200)

Hello there,

I have the same problem on my server running ubuntu.
It goes away if I start up steamcmd, and before logging in run the command: @sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows
Then I log in anonymous and run the update and verify command: app_update 2465200 verify
This should be pretty fast, it just re-factors the server.exe and wine seems to like it better.

It's not perfect though, I'm having trouble getting the server to communicate with steam so that other players can join. Works great over LAN though. Best of luck!
