How does the networking work in Crossover? I have a number of unsupported applications which run under Crossover, but do not complete their network connections.
I suspect the bottles are NAT'd through the linux machine. Are we able to set the bottles up to run in bridged mode instead? When using products such as virtualbox, changing the network from NAT to bridged mode has allowed these applications to work.
NAT shouldn't matter in terms of your applications accessing networks through Crossover. The number one thing to try to aid with network connectivity problems is to install IE6 into the same bottle as the app. This doesn't mean that you'll need to use IE6 as a browser - rather, its installation brings with it a lot of dll's that are necessary for network connectivity. You could also be dealing with firewall blockage.
Installing the DirectX runtime may help if the applications use DirectPlay.
If the applications use IPX(very ancient apps in win31/win95 times) you have to have IPX support enabled in your distro and need root privileges.
