Hi, I have had to install many apps from windows in Linux this morning as my XP machine went in spectacular style.
The problem that I am having with Sage is that I can execute the .exe file but it only gets as far as the splash screen and brings up an error "cannot access file on S:\"
I am trying to access the program via the windows server and the permissions are set so that any user can access the file.
I have seen this error on a windows machine before and usually relates to that user not being connected to the server correctly, a re-boot solves this 100% of the time.
The distro I am using is Ubuntu 8.04
I am open to suggestions
have you tried installing IE6 into the same bottle as Sage? Installing IE6 will add some crucial library files for connectivity purposes, and it helps with a lot of different applications.
hm...my other suggestions would be to experiment with installs in different bottle types, and change the order of install, if possible (IE6 first, then Sage, or the other way around). You might also try turning off your firewall. If you're handy with reading log files, we'd be happy to send you debugging instructions, as well.
Fundamentally, though, we don't really know how Sage works, as it is unsupported, so all we can give you are our best guesses.
