Hi,

I have a Windows program that comes as an executable without an installer. You simply run the exe and the program runs and creates a config file in the directory it's run from. How can I "install" this program in Crossover Linux? I know it runs under wine.

Try running it directly, as you would under Windows.

In the "Programs" menu select "run program" and then from the file selector choose the exe-file.

If that works, you can copy your program to wherever you like to have it and, again, in the "run program" window select your program and then press "save command to programs menu." This will give you a shortcut in your programs menu (where the other programs are) for future reference.

Manually create a bottle (of the required profile) using cxsetup or cxbottlemanager.
Copy the .exe file into this bottle environment...on linux, assuming crossover (not
crossover games)...this would be ;

~/,cxoffice/[bottle_name]/drive_c/ (this is equivalent to C:\ in windows)

In cxsetup, highlight the above bottle, click on Configure=>Control Panel=>Run
In the file requestor, navigate to the .exe you copied above, click on Open and
then click on the Create Shortcut button -- you should now have a desktop-icon
to launch you program with.
