Crossover Linux and MS Word on MacBook Pro 6,2 (2010)

I have Crossover Linux installed on my Macbook Pro.

I then installed Office 2007 in a Win XP bottle. I can use Word, but after a few minutes the Macbook Pro gets hot and the fans spin up. If I quit Word and Crossover, the temperature goes down and the fans spin normally again.

Sounds like a RAM problem. How much RAM do you have? Try closing other apps in the background using MS Word, or just use the online version if that doesn;t work
