This is about the only app I have seen do this. Launch game Blood from GOG on CrossOver using Mojave completely freezes MacOS. There is no solution except a hard restart. Nothing responds, even the haptic feedback on the MBP stops working. After double clicking the game icon it just freezes like that. There does not seems to be any reason for this as it happens at random, sometimes it does sometimes it does not.
The other issue I have is that sometimes the game launches like in slow motion and dropped frames. Quitting the game and relaunch, or reloading sometimes help to go back like 60fps.
I am not sure if those are a Mojave, CrossOver, or the game itself issue. Game runs inside DosBox. Just reporting the problem, is this an expected behaviour of CrossOver?
