UT3, CX Games 7, Mac OS X Leopard == crash

Hi

have this game bought in my Steam Account.
Run game (some DX and other stuff were installed) with crash reporting.
And got immediate game shutdown - crash.
It was caused by XINPUT failure. Is it DX10 feature? Is is .NETed feature? And will it be supported?

Thanks,
Alex

PS: report

XInput is a library to talk to the XBox 360 gamepad. It comes with the DirectX SDK. For now the native one works(it just reports that no gamepad is available on crossover), and we might implement our own which calls the Linux/Mac joystick drivers in the future.

I think the game is crashing due to graphics issuesl. UT2007 is running at about bronze level on Linux with Nvidia cards, but I'd be highly surprised if the Mac drivers are capable of running it at the moment.

Installed 10.5.5

really, it doesn't matter what OS to use. The problem is - there is no LOTS of DX dlls, which are needed by this game. I will try to find them (maybe will copy from my Windows OS) and launch the game.
But it is weird - I did installed the latest DX 9 and they MUST be in the bottle... mistery

I'm trying to run the STEAM version under Ubuntu Hardy.
It installed allright and I also installed the package recommended under tips and tricks.
Even so - the game doesn't run at all, without so much as an error message - could someone point me towards an error log so that I can attempt to debug the problem?

On Linux, your best bet to collect a diagnostic log is to use the command line. Something like:

/opt/cxgames/bin/wine --cx-log /tmp/steam.log --bottle <bottle name> --cx-app steam
When Steam launches, try to launch UT3, wait a few seconds for it to finish failing, as it were, then exit Steam. (Don't just close the Steam window.)

Note: this is not a promise to diagnose whatever you find in the log. 😉

I am having the same problem with the game crashing on startup. I am using OS X 10.5.6. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the logging to work correctly to log this. I try to get log information from the run window but as soon Steam starts that stops the logs. I do have this in my Console.

It shows up every time I try and run UT3.

Could it be that Steam is already running when you try to start the logging? If Steam is already running, then running it again just brings the existing Steam window forward. The new process just exits once it's done that.

You must fully exit Steam using File -> Exit before attempting to start it with logging.

So is there going to be a release or a patch to fix these issues on mac? or is boot camp the only solution?

Hey LucID, did you get the steam version working on a mac?
