Cheater's Lament Shown While Invisible

As an invisible spy, your hat is supposed to be invisible, but the Cheater's Lament is not. This means other people can see the hat floating around and kill you when you're supposed to be undetectable. This is unfair, as it gives the spy a gameplay disadvantage for using this hat. I think it should go invisible like all the other hats. (I have tested this several times, including scaring myself while invisible on Harvest Event, and I still see that the Cheater's Lament is completely opaque.)

NOTE:
This is a copy of a bug report I submitted to Valve, but I'm also posting in here just in case it has something to do with CrossOver, which I kinda doubt.

Have you actually seen the halo over the head of a spy who is cloaked? Or is it just on your own screen?

Just my own. I'm not sure if other people can see it, but I think they can. And I've never seen anybody else with a halo floating in mid air, but it could just be a coincidence that I didn't see it, of course. If someone could help me test this out, it would be useful.

That bug was in TF2 on Windows also, but they fixed it within a few days. I just checked by scaring myself on Harvest Event as you described and the halo is completely invisible to me when I'm cloaked. The TF2 update log viewed from Steam lists "Fixed Halo glow effect not being hidden for cloak/disguised enemy Spies" as one of the bug fixes on September 15th.

Please double-check that your TF2, Steam, CrossOver Games, and OS are fully up-to-date. Then, if it still doesn't work, tell us which OS and version you're using and which video card brand your system has.

I don't know exact details, but there have been cases where Nvidia cards work better than Intel and also where something only works properly on one of Mac or Linux.

For reference, I'm using CXG 8.0.0 on Kubuntu Linux 9.10 with an Nvidia card.

You can add me to steam, my account is fireemblem555.

Wow, really? That's weird. I always keep all 4 up to date, it can't be that I don't have the update. But all updates are cumulative, right? Like if they release 2 TF2 updates, I'll get both and not just the newest one, right?

OS: Mac OS 10.5.8 (Leopard)
CxG: 8.0
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT

Is it possible it also has something to do with my graphics settings? And it's really not a big problem, it's just a slight annoyance with a hat I don't use often, anyway. But it would be cool to fix this if someone else had the problem or it helped CxG.

Cool, I added you.
