Servers not populated, load screen iffy, and startup music is dead.

When I play TF2 from Steam on Crossover Games 8 wiwth Snow Leopard- everything dies. I don't have music on the main screen, the server loading screen doesn't always appear, the textures in the menus are crap, and NO SERVERS ARE POPULATED even though the list says they are. HALP!

Hmmm, ouch. D:
Did you try adjusting your graphics settings? And what's your dxlevel? Also, have you played any other Source games under Snow Leopard?

Is this a new installation of Steam with CrossOver Games 8, or did you have an existing Steam bottle created with an earlier version of CrossOver Games? If you've used earlier versions, did TF2 work with them?

Also, what kind of Mac do you have and what kind of graphics card does it have?

A brute force technique you can try is to create a new bottle and install Steam and TF2 into that, from scratch. That might fix any junk or corruption that may have somehow gotten into the registry of your existing bottle.

For a less drastic approach, you can run regedit and delete the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\tf]. That will reset TF2's settings, which may be bad.

If that still doesn't work, we can investigate further.

Thanks- the clearing of regedit worked perfectly@

Cool! If you don't mind, I'm just curious, as I'm thinking of switching to Snow Leopard myself, do you mean to say clearing regedit fixed all Snow Leopard bugs you encountered that you hadn't seen in Leopard?

Yes, but more problems exist. The regedit fix does work though.

Hmm, ok, thanks.
