Is there anyway to reduce the lag in Team Fortress 2? I have a really good internet connection, but I still lag pretty badly when there are a lot of people around me.

May i know what your computer specs are?
Tf2 recommends at least 1 gig of ram to play .
Besides that you could lower the graphic settings
by setting launch options like -dxlevel 80
I am going to try this. When I have a few people around me I get 9 - 11 FPS.
Specs:
2.4 Ghz (Dual Core)
Memory 2 GB
GeForce 8600M GT
Early 2008 Mac Book Pro
Thats surprising.
9 to 11 fps ..is quite little even for TF2
Know any reasons why?(:
I did that directx80 thing and now I get 60 FPS. But my keyboard isn't working when I try moving and typing and such.
Thats strange...keyboards work outof de box most of the time
Do you have any software that takes control of keyboards? like scim? or any writing software?
Nevermind. I found out changing the resolution in directx 8 mode makes the keyboard unresponsive.
It should'nt be
Direct x does not have anything much to do with ya keyboard
Well it maybe a new bug for CxG8 Beta 1
sorry but, how do you guys find out your FPS? :P
Go to TF2's ingame options and go to Keyboard -> Advanced... -> enable developer console.
Then in game hit the ` key (to the left of the 1, above Tab) to bring up the console and type cl_showfps 2 to pop in an fps counter.
cl_showfps 0 will make it go away.
ahh awesome thank you =]
