Hot Fix, Hot off the press!

If you have been experiencing the recent crash with Team Fortress 2 due to the Steam Update (which exposed some deficiencies in our code...) we have an official 'hot fix' release for you!

Provided your support is current, you can log into your account, go to 'My Downloads' and choose the latest version of CrossOver Games, 7.2.2 (http://www.codeweavers.com/account/downloads/). This version is available for both Mac and Linux systems! You can also download the trial version of this release which is good for 7 days, as usual.

Please be advised!

  1. This is a hot fix, it is supported but we intend to improve upon it before our CrossOver Games 8.0 release. What we have now is not exactly 'pretty' and may adversely affect some games.

  2. When you exit a server with this release you will experience what appears to be a crash. Due to what we did to get TF2 up and functional, it take longer for redraws on exit. Wait at least one minute for functionality to return.

  3. If you notice anything not working properly, please open a support ticket or send an email to info AT codeweavers.com. We may tell you it's the nature of this version but we will definitely look into what you are seeing.

  4. Have fun! We hope this brings joy to anyone who has not been able to play Team Fortress 2 for the last few days.

Joy has been restored, indeed.

Dunno if it's just me, but the quitting times are no longer (nor are they any shorter, actually) than in 7.2.0 or 7.1.1.

So, you know, YMMV. shrug

Well yeah, they weren't fixing the memory leak they fixed the startup crash.

All of the release notes suggested that application quit times would go up and that a little patience was required -- that was what I was referring to.

It was more of a '30-seconds-in-crash' than a startup one, in my experience.

In any event: huzzah!

my copy of tf2 still crashes...can anyone help ive downloaded the new version and everything

It looks like they updated TF2 again last night, and
from what I'm seeing a number of people are having
troubles again...ie; the latest update has broken
crossover's compatibility again. Going by codeweaver's
last response to such a thing...ie; this thread...a
fix should be forthcoming in short time...

lol its like they dont want us playing on macs...ok ill keep a lookout for the next update

Its not like that they want to...
But Mac 'controls' the system resources to much..

Any way...the new TF2 update is out and it is working fine as usual

Actually the update that made the crashes was whenever someone threw Jarate and when it landed on someone.
