Mouse Problems with all FPS Games in Crossover

I know this issue has been discussed before but this is a somewhat different question then the other open thread on the topic - which hasn't been replied to in at least 3 weeks.

Crossover Games is continuing to improve on the graphics side, and even in OS X one can enable GLSL and get some minor DX9 goodies like the battlecrys when you press "g" in TF2.

The one thing that continues to ruin TF2 in Crossover for me and others I talk to on various forums is the awful mouse issues. Mouse movement is jittery, laggy, or just plain off at times and at other times its smooth. Overall it feels "slower" then playing the game in a native windows environment or on VMWare Fusion 2.0. I understand the reasons why as the Crossover Dev team has kindly explained the issue before and the differences in mouse positioning, etc.

My question is simple: Is this a fixable issue or an impossibility to fix? If it is fixable, knowing that would be a godsend, as I could continue to hold out. If it unfixable knowing that would also be nice as I need solid mouse implementation for FPS and I can just resign myself to knowing that will never come under WINE.

Sorry to start a new thread on the subject but I'd be interested to know. Thanks so much for all your work on this Crossover devs.

I'm pretty sure I've responded to this same question a couple of times now.

With the current state of things, my best advice for a workaround is to actually turn down the sensitivity/acceleration of the mouse at the hardware and Mac OS X level, and then turn up the sensitivity in TF2's settings. On top of that, running the game at high resolution also is likely to improve the mouse performance. (The problem is due to the cursor position hitting the edge of the screen before Wine can recenter it. A higher resolution gives more room between the center and the edge.)

As for the future, yes, we have solutions in the works for this issue. However, it's a long-term project, not due for months, at least.

I have this problem sometimes with my Nvidia 9400M enabled on my MacBook Pro, but if I enable the 9600M, I don't seem to encounter it and the game plays great (until TF2 crashes to the desktop). Unfortunately, the 9600M has it's own problems (see BlSOD). I have to play using smcFanControl2 which does help mitigate the problem. /sigh
