Well, I was nearly done updating TF2 when I decided to start it, and it seemed to stay on the loading screen for an unusually long time. I later found out that, according to the Task Manager, it was/is actually Not Responding.

What the heck is happening here?

Update: I can't even see the word "Loading..." now. It looks like it's just stuck there. No menu options, no nothing.

Update again: It loads, but it now crashes every time I try to view my achievements, player info, or every time I try to connect to a server. In addition to that, it also randomly crashes CrossOver Games itself.

Please specify if you are using mac or linux...and if linux which distro
And ermm
If in linux you have to disable compiz and xgl and use xorg
And of course you would need the drivers and a suitable grahpic card for the game

Try to set the language in Steam to English, if it isn't already. We have some font loading problems causing buffer overruns for some letters in non-english languages inside TF2(stricly speaking its either a Freetype or TF2 bug). Using English may work around this issue
