New lag

So, I've been using crossover Games for a good month now. At the moment all I use is steam and TF2. It's a great program and has been working perfectly. Just today I started to play and noticed that it was taking ages to load on steam. It was also taking a long time to load on TF2. Even worse, I have so much lag on TF2 that the game is un-playable. I use Crossover Games Ver. 7.2. I also use an up to date Mac.
A 24 inch allaminium running 10.5.6. As I've said I have never had any lag despite having 1 GB of memory (which I'm upgrading next week). My prossessor is a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo if you need any more details I can find them. I might not reply immediatly. But I will get back to this. Please help. TF2 is awesome!

Any help?

Oh..Hm yess. TF2 , a hl2 mod , Has a very bad problem . Memory leak

This problem is most prominent in CxGames 7.2

At start up , Tf2 take bout 160 mb ram
At entering a server , it takes 450 mb ram
After playing for 1 and the half hour , for me , it went to 630 plus mb worth of ram usage.

Of course you can use directx 8 to try to reduce memory usage , but the leak will eventually occur.

I also have 1 gig of ram .. yea i do lag occasionally , but other than that the performance is amazing . i got bout 60 fps to 112 fps..yea running Directx 8..Occasionaly lag is probably due to swapping ..In windows term..its page file.

If i am not mistaken , Mac also does swapping , therefore the lag as your harddrive is being used as working memeory.

For a smooth enjoyable game play , 1 gig or more of ram is recommanded.
So with your new upgrade of ram , it should be just fine =)

Ah thanks, I'll just start it running now and see what happens. Thanks for the help!

Seems to be running great now! I hope the new ram will sort out any problems that will occur after this, thanks!

All the best ! have fun gaming =)
