There's mainly the updated Wine version in CrossOver.
We have performance improvements specifically for Source engine games.
This is from my hacky performance monitoring system: http://84.112.174.163/~stefan/amd64/halflife2/results.php
You can especially see the uptick around December 2008(running with plain Winehq sources), and the dxlevel 90 improvement recently when I managed to clean up an old CrossOver hack and get it into Wine. TF2 dxlevel 90 and 95 are quite a bit faster too, but we still decided to keep it disabled by default. If you have a really powerfull system it might be nicely playable now though.
thats amazing news. my MBP was dropping framerate with the "useGLSL" enabled but now there may be an improvement. im off to check it out. you guys are awesome
