Could you give some more information about your system?
Especially the hardware specs and your distro + version would be interesting.
Does the lag also happen with plain Star Craft?
I am using madriva 2006 with kde 3.4.1. What do you mean by plaun star craft?
Thanks!
Both the regular and expansion worked well with CrossOver 3.0, but they have had these issues with colors and being too slow to be playable since then. It works well with WineHQ Wine, and I've spent a little time talking to a couple people from CodeWeavers about the differences. I know they use different bitmap code in CrossOver than is in regular Wine, and from doing some debugging that's the first place I see them diverge. Hopefully it'll get fixed up before the next major release.
Ok, thanks for your answer!
As of my test today, the "major lag" is still quite evident, and being on a 64-bit system I find it difficult to use regular wine :/
Any suggestions on how to get this running?
I just bought Xandros home edition 4.0 equipt with a Cross over office standard 30 day free trial and i couldnt get this game to work. I would create a bottle for it to run off and it would install the software fine but then when i actually wanted to play the game it would give me the usual error message saying "We can not read a required file that is required to run starcraft, please check to make sure the disk is inserted and try again" however the disk was inserted so idk what the hell is going on there. I read some other posts saying that you got it to run but i cant at all, generally after i get it installed the starcraft menu has "play starcraft" option and when i click it, it then proceeds to load up the loading screen but goes no where from there and it just freezes and i eventually have to restart my computer. I dont know if this whole "bottle" concept where the files are stored are the problem but it seems to me it cant run the .exe file encrypted into the CD to run the game for some reason and this game isnt compatible with Xandros or the Cross over software. Any thoughts or ideas on what i could try would be great or any speculations on why im having these issues would be great.
