StarCraft: Brood War Forum

This game runs perfectly for me, BUT when I try to log on to battle.net it says it cant verify the version of the game, and that I should re-install the game.

does anybody has the same problem?

I just ran into the same problem and found a way that someone discovered to get rid of the error.

In CrossOver:

• Go to Configure, Manage Bottles
• Click on the bottle that you've installed StarCraft to.
• Click on Control Panel and double-click on Wine Configuration
• Choose the Graphics tab
• Uncheck "Allow the window manager to decorate the windows" and "Allow the window manager to control the windows"
• Click OK.
• It should now work!

One caveat: The graphics in the Battle.net menus will likely look pretty messed up. Also, when I leave Battle.net, the screen is blank. If I click the mouse button, I can see the cursor, and then pressing Esc returns me to the main menu.

But aside from that, it seems to work!
