Patch 1.5 Breaks Rift via crossover 10.1.1

Running Mint 10 Nvida graphics card GTX 480. Rift Patch 1.5 Crossover 10.1.1 Able to authenticate and update game. Upon hitting Play get the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\RIFT Game\rift.exe

R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application;s support team for more infomration.

Has anyone else encountered this? Everything worked yesterday before this new patch.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

I went into Manage bottles/applications. Clicked on Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistibutable
then clicked on repair. This did not work.

I just got on to report the same issue. I can't fix it through the bottle and I attempted to repair via the launch screen.

We're looking into this as we speak. It's working fine on an ATI Mac here at the office, but failing on an NVDIDIA Linux machine. If users seeing this issue could please post their Operating System and GPU (i.e. Graphics Card) type, that would be very helpful.

Same here. I also tried the patch files and it was a no go.
Any other ideas out there?

Intel Core 2 Duo
Mac Lion 10.7
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB

What is the Graphics Card?

It doesn't work here.
it does give the same runtime error.

Jlu from Trion posted that they are also working towards a fix in the Tech Support forum. Supposedly they have identified a "potential" cause.

Checking in with my 2 cents...

I am currently experiencing the "r6034" crash. I reinstalled the MS 2008 Visual Basic C++ package and that didn't work. I attempted to recover the game from the launcher and that also failed to correct the problem.

I'm running the game using CO Games Linux 10.1.1 under Ubuntu 11.04 64bit with a NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS using the binary drivers version 280.13.

Our v1.5 client was accidentally linking against both Visual C++ 2005 and Visual C++ 2008 runtimes. We have fixed it so that it correctly links against VC2008 only.

I would suggest waiting for a hotfix that we should be releasing soon.

Same Runtime Error as everyone else (R6034).

Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1 (11B2118)

Can we expect this to be fixed today, or is there no estimated time?

I'm getting the same error:

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\RIFT Game\rift.exe

R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I read that they're working on a hotfix, but I'll submit my information, just to be complete.

I found a fix.

Just make shure you have microsoft visual C++ 08 and 05 installed and youll be golden.

I just installed them into my rift bottle and i was good to go.
So

Manage bottles
select rift bottle
and make shure you have microsoft visual C++ 08 and 05 installed
thats it.

Same error

Ubuntu Natty
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460

Mintois' fix worked for me!

I did what you said. My bottle shows MV C++ 08 and 05. I've attempted to repair them. it says it's all good, but it still doesn't work. Did you reinstall them? clear them out? or just check if they were there?

clear them out and then reinstall both of them.

Edit: i forgot i made a new bottle. like a fresh one and then installed the required rift functions and then installed mscv '05

so, you just reinstalled the whole game? from scratch?

Please read the post from 'jlu' here-above...

Hi,

after running in the same problem this morning after patching I searched forums for a painless solution.
Install via manage bottle panel the MV C++ 2005 and repair MV C++ 2008 did the trick without reinstalling the whole bottle / game data / etc.

Thx for pointing it out here, it did work for me fine on a MacBookPro and CXG 10.1.2

We have temporarily added MSVC++ 2005 to the tie file for Rift.

Adding it to your install will likely not have any adverse affects. When we have confirmation that Rift is working, we will remove the dependency for new installs of Rift.

Many, many thanks to the Trion team for their attention to this.

I think most (if not all) of us really do appreciate all that you and Trion do to bring us the ability to play Rift on the platform of our choice, but translation problems like this really make it even more frustrating that we don't have our own native client. I'm pretty sure GameBRYO runs in OpenGL -- if Trion released a native Mac client, I'd thrown down lifetime sub money (seriously).

almost did it for me, had to remove 2008 and then reinstall it that it was solved.

also noticed the fonts changed in the chat windows, not got the 100% right yet, will try some diffrent fontsets, but not sure which one it really uses.

Our hotfix #2 client no longer requires this MSVC++ 2005 dependency.

Apologies for this. The problem remained under the radar until we released 1.5 to the wild.
