As with today's Patch, I can't patch the game anymore... I get a new patch error message "Failed to move existing files. (Error @1008)...then I get another Patch Failed message "Error communicating with the patching process. (Error @1026) Last Message: Missing file 'msvcp90.dll"
First they did a patch on the patcher, then the patcher doesn't work... YAY!! Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!
Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redist? It provides that dll...
Im glad to hear i am not the only one Receiving this problem. but then i am upset that the issue hasn't been resolved being that i just spent the last 24hrs downloading crossfire/rift only to find out that it "failed to communicate with patch"
If you have that error message after installing the package that Don mentioned, then please take a look in the Tips & tricks section. The "Quick Fixes to Common Issues" article lists that if you get that error, try pressing Play again and repeat until it lets you through. Sometimes for me it takes a few tries (3 or so at the most). If it gives you the message, wait a few seconds before clicking OK and trying again; I think I glitched something by going a little too quickly at it one time.
