I've recently installed and got Quicken XG 2007 to work.
First, some details about my installation.
I am running the following software and hardware:
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
System Software Overview:
System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.4 (9E17)
Kernel Version: Darwin 9.4.0
CrossOver:
Version: 7.0.2
Quicken XG 2007
Version: R4
I tried a few things that didn't work until I found the following installation steps.
- Do not install using the Quicken 2007 install, install as an unsupported program
- When prompted for the installation option, choose installation file and select the setup.exe from the CD. I tried using the installation folder option and this did not work.
- Install to new win2000 bottle. I am running an independent bottle.
- Proceed with install and when prompted to connect for updates, do not.
- Do not run the Quicken XG program.
- Allow the bottle to simulate a restart
- Download the XGr4 update from the quicken website - http://support.intuit.ca/quicken/updates_2007_r4.php
- Save the update to your MAC hard drive
- Install the update as an unsupported program
- When prompted for the installation option, choose installation file and browse to the update and select it.
- Install the update
- Do not run the quicken XG program from the update
- Allow the bottle to simulate a restart
- Done - you should be able to run Quicken XG now.
Some issues I've noticed.
- unable to register. use the CONTROL SHIFT option for bypassing the registration as shown in the Quicken 2007 -2008 forums
- unable to download stock quotes from the auto update, I'm assuming this is due to the registration issue.
- auto update hangs sometimes and I'm not able to deduce what circumstances cause it
