Pando / official downloaders

I just installed LoTRO using the official high-res downloader for US servers (http://cdn.content.turbine.com/sites/clientdl/lotro/lotrohigh.exe). No tweaks, just used the default CrossOver 9.2 configuration on Ubuntu 10.10 and selected the installer file. After a few hours, it completed as normal.

What problems do people usually have with it?

Generally speaking, the Linux download works fine now.

It is the Mac download that still does not work.

What William said... :)

The problem is with the Mac side of things. The artwork is inverted and the downloader gets stuck at "executing preinstallation actions".

Since the lotrohigh.exe doesn't work, as the artwork is inverted and it gets stuck, how can I install LOTRO now?? I've looked all over... Thanks

Use one of the downloads from the "Tips and Tricks" section -- I use the "games.on.net" version, it includes the High-Res client.

Then use the C4P installer to install that, plus the other components. PyLotRO will install first, but you have to wait until the LOTRO install completes.

Once the LOTRO installation is complete (about 45 minutes), launch PyLotRO, select the game (Tools/settings wizard) then patch it (Tools/patch).

Patching takes about another 45 minutes.

You should then be good to go.

Just for comparison, I've yet to have a full patch from the MoM client take less than a couple hours...(I usually let it run overnight)
