Key5 is a professional-grade tool for translators and researchers working between English and Chinese.

While Wenlin is a well-known Chinese-English dictionary tool used by translators and researchers worldwide, quite oddly, Key5 remained largely unknown despite being far more powerful than Wenlin in that it offered a vast host of other functions.

It is no longer for sale directly, but if you contact the developer, you can still purchase a license.

Key5 is an outstanding tool. I can only hope it will not be abandoned.
Install it in Crossover in a Windows 7 bottle. It runs flawlessly on Manjaro Linux and on Kubuntu 18

I have had trouble getting a CJK IME to run inside the bottle to enable CJK input. Until I figure out how to get CJK input, I just cut and paste from LibreOffice where I input text using Ibus.

I'm pleased to announce that Key5 continues to run perfectly in Crossover 19.0.2 as of August 2020.
Key5 is an invaluable tool for people who are serious about the study of Chinese language and/or translation. The Key5 dictionaries, like those in Wenlin, are far superior to the generally quite-poor online "free" dictionaries.

To obtain Key5, you'll have to write to the developer as it is no longer available for purchase online.
