When I play hl2 it always closes at the shooting part right after you get the pistol. There are no error meseges but my mouse is always in the very bottom right of the screen when it goes back to the desktop. It also closes and has a looping sound sometimes at times in the game like when you go around the corner and the girl is being attacked by the two guards. specs: 2.8ghz imac with 4gb ram. I installed steam through crossover,and I also turend both sound and shading quality to low.

Well, it's actually possible that turning your video settings higher might improve matters. We've seen this crashing problem ourselves on occasion, but we've never been able to figure out exactly what causes it. We think it might have to do with the particular layout of code and data in memory. So, playing with different settings might help because it rearranges the contents of memory.

We also have hope that future releases of CrossOver, which are currently in development, may fix this issue.
