Mouse Issues

I've installed Guild Wars on Crossover Games by selecting the "supported app" Guild Wars on the list and it started to install all.
After this i played but there are some mouse issues:

1) When i try to change the camera view oressing the right click and moving the mouse the view instantly goes down and I have to move it up again
2) When i zoom the zoom is "lagghy" and it zooms a lot, isn't smooth.

What can I do?

Which version of CrossOver Games are you running? Are you using a Mac or Linux?

I don't know if this is the same thing you experienced, but when I performed an internet-install of guild wars (fresh) using the supported app installer, I noticed the following things:

  • the app defaulted to full screen, but I clicked the "windowed" button in GW's upper right corner to window it
---- this gave me a window with no window frames border, and i couldn't move it; I also didn't see the upper right buttons anymore
  • when I held right-click to mouse-look as I moved, my view would slowly but surely aim towards the sky (my vertical mouse controls are inverted...or as I call them: regular :P )

I quit the app and restarted it, and that fixed my window border issues. I now have a grabbable window with a little resize widget in the lower right corner. My mouse issue also went away. I have not played it very long, so I haven't experienced the disappearing cursor problem yet.

Scott, those are symptoms of a known limitation of the Mac frameworks. Basically, they don't support changing a window between having a title bar and not having one. So, if the window is originally created with no title bar (full-screen) it will never have a title bar (even if you switch to windowed mode). Conversely, if the window is originally created with a title bar (windowed mode) it will always have the title bar even when it shouldn't (switched to full-screen).

So, the trick, as you've discovered, is to switch to the way you want it and then restart Guild Wars. If you're finding it hard to quit Guild Wars without the title bar, you can use Command-F4 (like the Windows Alt-F4 combo).

The issue with mouse look was probably due to the same issue. Without the title bar, the window is positioned slightly incorrectly. So, the mouse position is probably incorrect relative to the window (it's correct for where the window should be).

You're probably running CX on a Mac. IIRC the Mac window manager doesn't support toggling window decorations on the fly, the application has to destroy/recreate the whole window. Guild Wars doesn't. That's why you have to restart the game to have the borders again, or have them disappear from fullscreen if you started windowed. As for the mouse issue, Guild Wars assumes the titlebar has been toggled, so then the mouse coordinates are off, resulting in a residual delta in the computations, like if you have the mouse moved from the center.
