Compiz & Guild Wars (Problems, anyone else?)

Using Ubuntu 8.04, with some nice compiz effects, it seems there are a lot of possible compiz operations that will make it impossible to see the guild wars window

For example, I find if I use the viewport switcher plugin, and use the mousewheel while on the desktop, I switch desktops and guild wars minimizes, however once it does so I can not get it to come back up (i don't use gnome-panel, so not sure if it would be visible there, but it isnt with alt-tab or any application switcher of that type). The process is still running according to system monitor. Also, have the window snap to a place on your screen, and then moving the GW window will cause it to do this same problematic minimize.

Does anyone else experience problems when using compiz + guild wars? At the time of writing I am going to try adding a gnome panel to see if it minimizes to that properly, and am also going to try a few of the features such as 'allow window manager to control window' etc.

(There is another thread on a similar subject, but it seemed to be a different issue, if it is not we can merge the threads or delete this one)

EDIT: To be more clear, unlike the other thread, once this problem has occured, starting GW again works fine. Thats why I thought it deserved its own thread, also because it does not use the minimize button in guildwars to cause these problems.

Hi, im using a 20" iMac, 2Ghz Dualcore running Guildwars, I think there's a bug here, Im using the trail version atm, Guildwars loaded fine with no problems on install or in gameplay, frame rate is a healthy 20 - 38fps. Using the in-game icons i reduced screen size to view something on my desktop but noticed those in-game icons to toggle the full screen had vanished. So Im left with my game displayed at half size with no option for full screen. rebooting Crossover does nothing as it saves that display setting at half screen size.

The only work around i saw was zoom, this enlarged the half size to fit screen but it's not the full screen mode, restore display does nothing either to fix it. I know you guys are busy but if this was midway on your priority list that would be good enough ;)

I found Crossover by chance & think this program is pretty dam cool, i don't think enough people know about it in the UK tho but keep up the good work.
